Portland Aerial Tram ridership doubled on days leading up to the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, and operators expect the urban escape to be just as popular during the week leading up to the New Year.
For those in the Portland Metropolitan area looking for a peaceful downtown getaway during the holidays, the Tram offers an experience unique to only New York City and Portland residents in the U.S. – an urban tram.
WHO:

    Oregon and Southwest Washington residents looking for a peaceful urban adventure
    with family, on a date, or with out-of-town guests during the week between Christmas
    and the New Year.

WHAT:

    Soaring from the South Waterfront up 500 feet to the observation platform at OHSU,
    Tram guests can experience one of the most unique urban transportation modes in the
    U.S. Bring your camera and expect the following:
  • Stunning cityscape and mountain views stretching from Mt. St. Helens to Mt. Hood,
    weather permitting
  • Observation decks with sculptures and an indoor art gallery at the upper station’s
    Kohler Pavilion
  • OHSU cafeteria located on the third floor of Kohler Pavilion
  • A quick walk to hiking trails, bike paths and waterfront vistas
  • Refreshments available in the OHSU Center for Healing at the lower level station, or
    at nearby shops in Portland’s South Waterfront District

    Enter at Portland’s South Waterfront, accessible via car with plenty of parking, or by
    Portland Streetcar.

    Friday, December 31
    CLOSED

FARE:

    Roundtrip fare is $4.00; children 6 and under ride free.
